Complex Endometriosis Center

Presentations at international conferences

We were present at the ESGE scientific congress.

Professor DONNEZ presented the results of his latest studies.

Exchanges and discussions with all specialists are important for the CEC. Our priority is to play a part in the advances designed to help improve the quality of life of women with the disease.

Participants in training courses for doctors and nurses in Vaucluse schools

Training in the diagnosis, management and referral of young girls with suspected endometriosis for national education teams.

The CEC is involved in training school doctors and nurses throughout the Vaucluse département. In conjunction with the ENDOSUD PACA regional network, the aim is to improve diagnosis of the pathology from the earliest age, ensure appropriate care and avoid therapeutic wandering, which can have a major impact.

Front-line care is essential, and we support projects that aim to raise awareness and train professionals who, in turn, will be able to raise awareness among all school staff, respond appropriately and initiate the first diagnostic steps.

CEC has already given presentations to high school students and teachers. This has generated numerous exchanges and enabled us to adapt the information to the expectations of young people, who are often directly or indirectly confronted with the pathology.

Because any initiative dedicated to improving the care pathway and, where appropriate, the speed of treatment for patients suffering from complex forms of the disease, whose impact is sometimes irreversible in adulthood, deserves to be supported, we are responding.

Nearly 80 professionals attended the event.

At the heart of international teams

Treatment of Caesarean scar dehiscence

The CEC has recognized expertise in the treatment of Caesarean scar dehiscence. This little-known and poorly-defined iatrogenic pathology has recently been the subject of a consensus among experts, leading to recognition of this disorder, which has a considerable impact on the quality of life of post-Caesarean women.

The achievement of a consensus is an important first step towards the recognition of Caesarean section-related disorders, and will enable the various centers to speak the same language with a view to developing knowledge of this pathology.

At the heart of scientific advances

"In 2019 and 2020, the CEC was the first center to be able to offer a GnRH antagonist, linzagolix, in clinical trials published in 2021 and 2022. This molecule has significantly reduced adenomyosis symptoms and uterine volume. We are proud today to present our post-treatment experience in order to consider further clinical trials."

Actor at scientific conferences

presence at scientific congresses, a source of exchange and discussion, is important for the CEC

The annual ESGE (European Society for Gynecological Endoscopy) congress was held from October1 to 4. Professor Donnez was invited to present the results of his experience in the surgical treatment of rectal endometriosis over 4cm (classification # Enzian A3 C3) on a series of over 700 cases.

Surgery on this type of lesion is often associated with severe complications, with some authors recommending rectal resection of lesions larger than 3cm. CO2 laser shaving ensures excision of these lesions with a low complication rate, notably rectovaginal fistula, while maintaining a low recurrence rate.

Pioneers in the laparoscopic treatment of caesarean scars

Caesarean section scar surgery

Since 2008 and its first publication on the laparoscopic treatment of Caesarean scar dehiscence, the CEC has continued its research into the diagnostic and surgical management of cases where uterine reconstruction is required.

We are pleased to present our latest manuscript containing all the latest data from the scientific literature, published in Best Practice and Research Clinical Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

The CEC is part of the organization of the graded, structured and accessible care offer.

In order toimprove management of patients suffering from complex endometriosis (digestive, urinary, ovarian), and to respond to the pertinent questions raised by medical healthcare professionals, the CEC now offers the possibility of seeking specialist advice via remote image review.

This has the advantage of targeting patients in need of rapid care. For the CEC, it is important to reduce the time it takes to treat patients with endometriosis requiring a multidisciplinary care pathway.

The ROFIM platform, already used by the CEC for multidisciplinary consultation meetings (Réunions de Concertation Pluridisciplinaire - RCP), has been chosen by the Center to support tele-expertise.

The quick, intuitive procedure is described in the tab request for specialized image proofreading
