presence at scientific congresses, a source of exchange and discussion, is important for the CEC
The annual ESGE (European Society for Gynecological Endoscopy) congress was held from October1 to 4. Professor Donnez was invited to present the results of his experience in the surgical treatment of rectal endometriosis over 4cm (classification # Enzian A3 C3) on a series of over 700 cases.
Surgery on this type of lesion is often associated with severe complications, with some authors recommending rectal resection of lesions larger than 3cm. CO2 laser shaving ensures excision of these lesions with a low complication rate, notably rectovaginal fistula, while maintaining a low recurrence rate.
